Pocola loses in semifinals

Howe tops Heavener, 14-4

HOWE—Howe scored nine runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to break a 2-2 tie and go on to a 14-4 win over Heavener in slow pitch softball Tuesday.

Heavener is 8-5 and hosts Smithville and Central Sallisaw Thursday in a three-way. Howe is 4-10 against a very difficult schedule. The Lady Lions play in the Kiowa Tournament later in the week.

Heavener girls go 2-1

SALLISAW—Heavener’s girls went 2-1 in the slow pitch softball Sallisaw Tournament Thursday.

Heavener opened with a dominating 17-1 win over Roland, then the Lady Wolves edged Vian, 14-11, before closing the day with a 17-5 loss to Checotah.

Up next

The Lady Wolves are 7-4 and scheduled to play at Howe Tuesday.
